In Marxism, scientific theories present an understanding of the nature and law of objective existence and its development, which is multi-faceted and is entirely rooted in practices of social life. In the report of the CPC’s 20th National Congress, people orientation is stressed as the essential property of CPC. The report also points out that the most fundamental feature of socialism with Chinese characteristics is the leadership of CPC, which explicates in a profound and complete manner the essential requirement the Chinese path to modernization. In light of such explication, the following conclusions could be drawn: XI Jin-ping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era enriched and developed the theory on the essential content of socialism. It specifies that for socialism with Chinese characteristics, adherence to common prosperity based on the dominant role of public ownership is its economic nature, adherence to CPC leadership is its political nature and most essential feature, adherence to the guidance of Marxism and its scinicized theories is its cultural nature, adherence to social harmony based on people-centeredness is its social nature, adherence to the harmonious co-existence between humans and nature is its ecological nature, and adherence to the community with a shared future for humanity based on general national security is its diplomatic nature. Adherence to these six aspects thus constitutes a complete six-pronged theoretical system for the essential content of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
