Since the 18th CPC National Congress, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, has made important remarks on how to escape the historical cycle of rise and fall on different occasions. At the 20th CPC National Congress, Xi Jinping said in the report presented by him that the CPC found a second answer to the question of how to escape the historical cycle of rise and fall, and the answer is selfreform. He called on the whole Party to unswervingly exercise full and rigorous selfgovernance in the New Era. Xi Jinping’s remarks are of great significance for the CPC to tackle the special challenges that a large party faces and to consolidate CPC’s position as the long-term Marxist governing party.
