Russian Communist Workers’ Party: response to the Joint Statement of Communist and Workers’ Parties
     Release time: 2023-04-27

RCWP International Departments comments on the Joint Statement of Communist and Workers Parties, On the one year since the imperialist war in Ukraine.

In principle, the parties differences in assessing the war in Ukraine have already been outlined and reflected in the statement signed at the Havana meeting in October 2022.

A group of political parties, including the RCWP, regard the actions of the United States and NATO as a manifestation of modern fascism, and believe that opposing US imperialisms pursuit of expanding and consolidating its world hegemony is the most important task of all progressive forces.

Other parties, such as the KKE, view the ongoing war simply as a war between imperialists and adopt a position that makes all parties equally responsible for waging it. Today, this group of political parties has confirmed its view of the situation, offering generally correct and good wishes in a statement, to which no one raised any particular objections. They opposed the war, they understood the root of the internal contradictions of imperialism, they opposed the persecution of communists and trade unionists, they saw the danger of the war escalating into a possible nuclear conflict, and they called on the Communist Party and the masses to oppose the imperialist war. They quite rightly point out that the working people must go their own way and intensify the class struggle against monopoly,

Everything is correct, as written in the Soviet textbooks of the last century. We do not object and are deeply grateful to our comrades for expressing solidarity with the Ukrainian and Russian peoples who paid the bloody price of the imperialist conflict. All wishes are accepted, they do not in themselves cause rejection. It should be noted, however, that they are abstract, unrelated to concrete actions, a history of the development of relations between states and parties, completely detached from the analysis of concrete situations, and irrelevant to specific immediate tasks.

First, they fail to see the existence of a handful of the most powerful imperialist predators, led by the United States and NATO, that fit perfectly with the Leninist theory of imperialism. These imperialist countries are plundering other countries and trying to establish their own hegemony for a long time. They see no sign of fascism in this growing aggressive group that has defeated Yugoslavia, Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, Syria, and has now reached Ukraine and Russia. World imperialism led by the United States fostered fascism in Ukraine and elevated Hitlers comrades-in-arms to heroes. They burned dozens of people alive in Odessa. Since 2014, they have been waging a punitive war against the people of Donbass and the Russian-speaking population of Ukraine. Even after Merkel, Holland and other Western leaders admitted that the Minsk agreement was not meant to reconcile the parties, but was only used to provide military power to the fascist regime, some continued to talk about Russias military invasion. RCWP doesnt think so. RCWP knows what fascism is. That is probably why the communist parties of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus did not sign the statement of their comrades.

What is particularly surprising is that the Communist Party in the statement does not seem to see the economic and political aggression of US imperialism against European countries. The United States clearly benefited from the war, suppressing Europe and keeping Europe completely subservient to the United States. Few dared to speak out against the United States. Against the war, the US, the EU, NATO, the European left is only allowed to speak out if it denounces Russias invasion of Ukraine. The imperialists do not care about the details of this condemnation.

As such, RCWP has repeatedly pointed out that such a stance deflects, intentionally or not, the responsibility for the main aggressor, the greatest danger to the modern world—the fascist imperialism of the United States and NATO. This stance is not just opportunistic, but an evasion of the struggle against fascism.

RCWP disagree with that and RCWP will not leave our front lines. RCWP stands forever with the communists of Donbass and Ukraine.
