At present, we are conducting in-depth education on the theme of learning and implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era throughout the Party. How to further deeply understand the decisive significance of the “Two Establishments” and enhance the high consciousness of resolutely achieving the “Two Upholds” is a major theoretical and practical issue in learning and implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirit of the Party’s 20th National Congress. This article closely revolves around the study of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, combining theory with practice, history with reality, and comprehensively discusses the historical inevitability and significant practical significance of the “Two Upholds” : First, maintaining the core position of the Party leader is a major principle of Marxism; second, the need to firmly uphold the core position of the Party leader is a significant historical experience of the international communist movement; third, to firmly uphold the core position of the Party leader, it is necessary to clarify the relationship between Marxist leaders, political parties, classes, the masses, especially the people, and the Party leader from an ideological and theoretical perspective; fourth, Xi Jinping was an outstanding successor for the cause of proletarian revolution trained during the two eras of Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping; fifth, comparing the tenure system between China and the Western world led by the United States, we are more confident in the “Two Establishments” and “Two Upholds”.
